In line with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision to improve transportation services and create more job opportunities, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation is set to recruit contractual drivers for various depots.
Notable among these are Charbagh, Awadh, Kaiserbagh, Rae Bareli, Suburban, and Haidergarh depots in the Lucknow region.
In addition, interested candidates aspiring to become contractual drivers can contact the assistant regional manager’s offices of these depots to submit their application forms. Selected candidates will receive a fixed amount based on kilometres driven, along with additional incentives.
According to UPSRTC’s Lucknow region manager RK Tripathi, individuals selected as contractual drivers will be compensated at a rate of Rs 1.89 per kilometre. Additionally, upon completing duty for 22 days and covering 5,000 kilometres, they will receive Rs 3,000 as incentive.
Furthermore, upon fulfilling the stipulated two-year service requirement, individuals will receive a fixed amount of Rs 19,593, including allowances and incentives, for the excellent category, and those coming under the good category will receive a fixed amount of Rs 16,593, including allowances and incentives.
The transport corporation has also set minimum qualifications for recruiting contractual drivers. Accordingly, only candidates with a height of 5 feet 3 inches or more will be eligible to apply for the position of contractual driver. Besides, the candidates must be at least 23 years and 6 months of age or more, as per the specified qualification criteria. Similarly, educational qualifications have been standardised, requiring a minimum of eighth-grade pass.
