In line with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s ambitious vision for a grand and divine Maha Kumbh 2025, the Uttar Pradesh government is prioritising the development of a cutting-edge water management system in the Kumbh Mela area.
This innovative approach involves the implementation of a website and mobile app-based ‘Water Monitoring Management System’, aimed at enhancing water management efficiency during the event.
As part of its commitment to modernise facilities at the Maha Kumbh Mela, the Yogi government is also promoting various technology-driven initiatives across Prayagraj. The new mobile app will be developed for the Irrigation and Water Resources department, featuring advanced functionalities to effectively monitor and manage water resources during the Kumbh.
The development of this state-of-the-art app-based system has been entrusted to UP Electronics Corporation Limited (UPLC).
According to the project, the Maha Kumbh Water Monitoring System is a comprehensive solution that integrates a web portal and a mobile application designed to monitor and report water levels at various predefined control points. The system will collect and organise data in an easy-to-read format, helping officials make quick decisions during events like heavy rain or floods. This system is essential for managing the Maha Kumbh and future water-related needs.
It will include features such as efficient reporting, role-based access, alerts, notifications and data analysis to monitor water level trends. A GPS database will be created for these control points, which will also help in planning new ones based on their geographical locations.
The app and website will include several important features:
Secure logins: Users will have secure logins based on their roles, with specific dashboards for each type of user.
GPS coordination: The system will compile GPS coordinates to create new control points and provide regular updates and log reports on those points.
Automatic data handling: It will automatically compile data, geo-tag control points, and generate summary reports and alerts.
Google Maps integration: The app will connect with Google Maps, allowing users to see data in one view, use clickable map markers, and access reports on danger zones.
User-friendly interface: The app will have an easy-to-use interface with simple navigation and options to export detailed data.
Filtering options: It will include strong filtering tools for different geographical features on the map.
Graphs and Charts: The system will also create graphs and charts to help analyse trends and predict changes at the control points.
