The Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Monday took a potshot at former Chief Minister and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, stating that after 10 years your eyes have opened to the miserable conditions and hellish ‘civic amenities’ prevailing in Delhi.
In a post on X, Kejriwal stated, “LG sahab: Thank you for drawing our attention to the problems of Rangpuri pahadi. Our team is constructing a new drain there and cleaning it on a war footing. You visited New Rohtak Road and also told us about the drain overflow and broken road there. You will be happy to know that the road on one side has been built there and soon the road on the other side will also be ready. Also, a new drain is being built there at a cost of Rs 150 crore. If you see any problem in any part of Delhi, just tell us - we will solve it.” Responding to the tweet by him, the Delhi LG said, “The ‘our team’ you have mentioned in today's post on is the same officer/department who accompanied me on the tour of Rangpuri and Kapashera on 21.12.2024 and to whom I had requested for solution of the problems.”
He alleged that it would have been better if you had shown the same promptness and concern for the places like Kiradi, Burari, Sangam Vihar, Gokulpuri, Mundka, Nangloi, Ranikheda, Kalandar Colony, etc., identified by me after the tour.
“I would have been happy if you had also paid attention to those Delhi Government schools, where students of two classes are taught by ghost teacher in the same room with their backs towards each other,” he claimed, adding that he should take cognizance of those mohalla clinics where the condition is dilapidated and doctors do not come to the clinics.
“You will remember that on many occasions during the last two and a half years, in writing or in personal discussions, I have drawn your attention towards many serious problems of Delhi and Delhiites and requested you to solve them,” the letter read.
Saxena added that it would be appropriate to remind you that no work has been done on these issues till date and Yamuna has reached the highest level of pollution this year. “If you don't mind, I will personally hold you responsible for this, since you had filed a petition in the Supreme Court to stop the cleaning work going on in the Yamuna,” he claimed.
Asking him to personally go out in the city and assess the situation, the LG said, “Day before yesterday also, through my post on "X” I had requested you to visit Rangpuri and Kapashera, but even on this occasion, instead of going there yourself, you thought it appropriate to send your self-proclaimed temporary Chief Minister Atishi there.”
