R-Day celebrations conclude with Beating the Retreat

Republic Day celebrations in Madhya Pradesh concluded with “Beating the Retreat” on Monday. Governor Mangubhai Patel was present at the function as the chief guest. The ceremony took place at the Motilal Nehru Stadium at the Red Parade Ground in Jahangirabad. In this colorful program, the players of Police Brass Band and Army Brass Band demonstrated restraint, discipline and uniformity through their musical presentations.

State Chief Secretary Veera Rana, Director General of Police  Sudhir Saxena, Special Director General of Police G. P. Singh,  Sanjay Kumar Jha,  Shailesh Singh, Ajay Sharma, Ashok Awasthi, Additional Director General of Police Sajid Farid Shapu,  Sanjeev Shami, Yogesh Deshmukh, Vijay Kataria, Alok Ranjan,  Anil Kumar,  Vivek Sharma, Police Commissioner Harinarayan Chari along with other senior officers and police officers witnessed the grand and attractive “Beating the Retreat” ceremony.

At the “Beating the Retreat” ceremony, police brass band welcomed the chief guest by playing his tune. After the permission of the Chief Guest, wonderful tunes of patriotic songs and film songs were presented in the Police Brass Band Concert. Under the leadership of Inspector Shri Sunil Katare, this caravan of tunes started with “Vande Mataram”, “Teri Mitti”, “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil”, “Mere Ghar Ram Aaye Hain”, “Lahra Do”, “The Final Countdown”, “Chhukar He continued moving ahead with the tunes of the songs “Mere Mann Ko”, “Aye Mere Watan Ke Logon” and “Chale Jaise Hawaayen”. During this time, many musical presentations enthralled the audience. In the last phase of the concert, as soon as the police brass band played the song “Jai Ho”, the audience jumped and the stadium echoed with thunderous applause.

The audience was overwhelmed by the catchy tunes of the melodious songs. Before the retreat, the massed band performed a drum roll. In the final phase, the women's contingent saluted and respectfully lowered the national flag and kept it safe. At the conclusion of the program, the soldiers marched out to the tune of the song “Saare Jahan Se Achcha” presented by the band. After the national anthem, attractive fireworks were done.
