Punjab Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), in coordination with SAS Nagar Police, has arrested four operatives connected to the Canada-based terrorist Arsh Dalla. The operation also resulted in the recovery of three .32 calibre pistols along with 16 cartridges, said the state Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Monday.
The arrested operatives have been identified as Gagandeep Singh and Navjot Singh (alias Nishu) from Amloh, Fatehgarh Sahib; Lakhwinder Singh from Bhadson, Patiala; and Vipanpreet Singh from Faridkot. The police also seized their white Swift car, which was used during the operation.
DGP Yadav revealed that the arrested individuals admitted to firing shots at a car accessories showroom in Phase 11, Mohali, on the night of December 1-2. Their objective was to intimidate the shop owner and extort money, as instructed by their foreign-based handler, Daljit Singh alias Ninda. Ninda, a history sheeter, fled to the USA using a fake passport and is believed to be associated with a radicalized, USA-based gangster.
