More than 10 thousand persons with disabilities accompanied by their escorts, will celebrate the much-awaited 'Purple Fest' at Amrit Udyaan in the Rashtrapati Bhawan on Monday to be inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu. The event aims to promote inclusivity and raise awareness about disabilities through interactive activities and exhibitions.
Talented artists with various disabilities will showcase their skills, breaking down societal barriers and promoting their inclusion. Ministers of Social Justice and Empowerment, along with the Secretary of DEPwD, will grace the one-day event.
Organised by the Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya National Institute for Persons with Physical Disabilities, the festival will feature fully inclusive and interactive stalls representing organisations dedicated to accessibility and inclusion.
Activities include visits to Amrit Udyaan, sessions on 'Know your disabilities', Purple Cafe, Purple Kaleidoscope, Purple Live Experience Zone, and more.
