In a bid to woo auto drivers, who are traditionally a vote bank of AAP, ahead of the state assembly polls, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva on Monday addressed more than 1000 auto drivers stating that AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal has only cheated them by making promises to them for the last 10 years.
Sachdeva flagged off the support rally of thousands of auto drivers from central and west district from the state office. While addressing the auto drivers, the senior BJP leader said, “There is a very large section of auto drivers in Delhi, they are the pulse of the whole Delhi, they roam around in the whole Delhi, talk and listen to the problems of the people but their problems are not heard.”
He added that in the last decade, former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has cheated them. “That is why we have made them aware today that it is BJP's responsibility to improve your livelihood. If BJP comes to power, it will improve the lives of all of you,” he said.
The Delhi BJP chief asserted that only BJP can understand the problems of auto drivers because Kejriwal has forgotten the promises made to auto drivers in the last 10 years. “Kejriwal had promised that he will build hundreds of auto stands but till date auto drivers are waiting for it. Apart from putting a complete ban on auto seizure, he will also stop bribery in the transport department but today bribery is at its peak,” he alleged.
Taking a jibe at the AAP chief, Sachdeva said that he had talked about sending auto brokers to jail but Kejriwal himself went to jail by becoming a liquor broker. “Since elections are just around the corner, so many promises are being made but auto drivers are demanding an account of what was given to them in the last 10 years,” he claimed.
On this occasion, auto union leaders Rajendra Soni, Vinod Bhatia, Suraj Vaidya, Arif Mohammad, Rishipal, Rakesh Anand and Prarthana Kumari, Delhi BJP Vice President Rajkumar Bhatia and Corporation Councilor Sandeep Kapoor were also present.
