Mayor Malti Rai joined city residents for Chhath Puja celebrations at Prempura, Khatlapura, Hathai Kheda, Saryu Sarovar Park, Ekta Puri, and Barkeheda in the state capital on Thursday.
Rai performed prayers and extended best wishes to citizens who attended the Chhath Mahaparv celebration at Prempura.
She also participated in the Chhath Mahaparv organised by the Bhojpuri Utsav Samiti at Khatlapura Ghat in Jahangirabad, where she launched a book based on Chhath Puja.
Mayor Malti Rai also visited celebrations at Ekta Puri Suraj Kund and the Chhath Puja Mahotsav at Saryu Sarovar Park in Ayodhya Nagar, organised in cooperation with the Department of Culture of the state government. Promoting the conservation of the environment, the Mayor also participated in the eco-friendly festivities at Hathai Kheda Dam, organised under the theme of a clean Chhath Puja.
