Indore and Bhopal will become emerging hubs of BPM sector

Wednesday, 12 June 2024 | PNS | INDORE

Nasscom Business Process Management (BPM) Council, in collaboration with key industry stakeholders and government representatives, convened a meeting in Indore today.

The primary objective was to bolster the local ecosystem and persuade top technology firms to establish and expand their operations in the city. The meeting featured a distinguished lineup of dignitaries and government officials, including Swatantra Kumar Singh, Commissioner of Commercial Tax; Anshul Gupta, Managing Director of MPSEDC; RL Narayana, Corporate Vice President & Location Head at WNS; and Hrishi Nandedkar from Fusion GBS and Nasscom SME Council Member.

They gathered to discuss a variety of topics such as the strategic advantages of Indore, the ease of doing business in Madhya Pradesh, the region's technology potential and opportunities, as well as talent and digital skills development.Driven by tech companies' intensified search for alternative sites for establishing or expanding their operations, motivated by factors like infrastructure quality, talent cost, and the pursuit of specialized digital skills outside metro areas, nasscom in consultation with the industry earlier last year had identified 26 cities in India as the 'next wave of technology hubs.'

These cities present opportunities for sustainable and scalable growth within the technology sector.

Several technology enterprises have strategically established their operational centers in these emerging hubs to fully leverage the varied opportunities available. Attributes such as a large and highly skilled workforce, advanced infrastructure, and a supportive business environment have facilitated the establishment of a broad array of technology and operations companies.

Moreover, recent substantial government investments in education and training programs have ensured that the workforce in these locations is well-prepared to meet the demands of the modern economy.Indore is home to over 1000 technology businesses, 50% of which are into BPM services.
