18-day Gita paath, havan yagna conclude at Int’l Gita Mahotsav

Chandigarh: Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB) honorary secretary Upendra Singhal on Sunday said that for the first time in International Gita Mahotsav, Gita paath and havan yagna were organized on the ghats in Kurukshetra for 18 days continuously from November 28 to December 15. These havan yagnas were concluded with complete ‘aahuti'. The echo of teachings of these havan yagnas and gita paath was heard daily on the holy Brahma Sarovar. The important aspect is that these shlokas were recited daily in the morning from the information centre set up by the Department of Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture at stall number 1.

Haryana Governor felicitates people working for peace of Kashmir

Gurugram: Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatraya on Sunday felicitated people working for peace of Kashmir in a cultural evening organized by ‘Kashmir Peace Lovers’ at Gurugram University.  Addressing the programme as the Chief Guest, he said that Kashmir is the crown of India and a symbol of peace. “This peace should be maintained in future also and I salute the people working for it,” he said, while congratulating all such people who received awards in this ceremony. Describing his Kashmir visit, the Governor said that many ancient temples are located in Kashmir and the people there have preserved their cultural heritage.

Technical seminar on ‘Sustainable Building Construction Practices’

Chandigarh: The Indian Building Congress (IBC), in association with UT Engineering Department, on Sunday organized a technical seminar on “Sustainable Building Construction Practices” and “Glass Fibre Reinforced Rebars” in Chandigarh.  IPC president C Debnath said that the technical programme featured a series of engaging panel discussions and keynote presentations focused on a variety of critical themes, such as innovative construction technologies, green building certifications, affordable housing strategies, climate-responsive design, and infrastructure resilience. These sessions served as a platform for knowledge-sharing, innovation exchange, and networking among professionals and stakeholders from across the building and construction ecosystem, he added.

176 units of blood collected at PGIMER’s voluntary donation camps

Chandigarh: PGIMER’s Department of Transfusion Medicine on Sunday conducted two blood donation camps under the guidance of Prof RR Sharma. First at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan TDI, Mohali, in association with Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation under the leadership Dr Lakhwinder and collected 114 blood units. The second was held at Mahajan Bhawan Sector 37 Chandigarh under the leadership of Dr Ekta and collected 62 blood units.

Will fulfill all promises made in manifesto: Hry Minister

Hisar: Haryana Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister Ranbir Gangwa on Sunday paid a gratitude visit to Rajli, Panghal, Dhani Khan Bahadur and Dhani Mirdad villages in Hisar district and listened to the problems of the common people. He directed the concerned officials to take appropriate steps towards their resolution. Gangwa, addressing the villagers, said that the Haryana Government has always fulfilled its manifesto and will continue to do so in the future.

Cong MP Selja writes letter to Union Minister over maintenance of sports grounds

Chandigarh: Senior Congress leader and Sirsa MP Kumari Selja on Sunday wrote a letter to the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, demanding better maintenance of Chaudhary Dalbir Singh Indoor Stadium, located on Dabwali Road in Sirsa. In a statement, she said that the Union Minister was informed about the deteriorating condition of this indoor stadium. The construction of Chaudhary Dalbir Singh Indoor Stadium began on June 5, 1993, with the joint efforts of the Centre, the Haryana Government, and the people of Sirsa. Inaugurated in 1996, it is the largest indoor stadium in Haryana. However, due to neglect in maintenance over the past few years, the stadium is no longer suitable for practice or hosting competitions, she pointed, while urging the Union Minister to direct Sports Department officials to ensure its proper upkeep so that players can access adequate facilities for indoor sports.

5-day exhibition of clay, Khadi begins in Kurukshetra

Kurukshetra: A five-day exhibition of various village industry products like clay artifacts, pottery and Khadi products was inaugurated by Manoj Kumar, chairman of Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India at Draupadi Koop in the Brahma Sarovar complex, Kurukshetra on Sunday.  Inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the exhibition is aimed to provide a marketing platform to institutions, artisans, and beneficiaries associated with ‘Kumhar Empowerment’, Pradhan Mantri Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), and Khadi Gramodyog Vikas Yojana to empower them economically. KVIC chairman said that the Commission, through such exhibition, is providing a platform to those artisans and beneficiaries from all over the country.

Shruti Choudhry to chair meeting of Grievances Committee today

Chandigarh: Haryana Women, Child Development and Irrigation Minister Shruti Choudhry will chair the meeting of the District Public Relations and Public Grievances Committee in Fatehabad on December 16. A total of 17 complaints will be taken up in this meeting. Spokesperson said that in the meeting, three complaints which were pending from the last meeting have also been included. Apart from this, 14 new complaints will be taken up.

HP Deputy CM meets Zscaler CEO

Chandigarh: Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri met the globally renowned entrepreneur and Zscaler CEO Jay Chaudhry in Chandigarh on Saturday evening. Agnihotri said that Chaudhry hails from Panooh village in Una district, who has brought global recognition to the State with his remarkable journey, which serves as a source of inspiration for the state’s youth. Accepting Agnihotri’s invitation to visit Himachal, particularly Una, Chaudhry expressed a keen interest in contributing to the state’s development. He expressed his desire to work in key areas such as cybercrime prevention, technology advancement, education and healthcare sectors. “I am planning to visit Himachal soon to outline a comprehensive framework for implementing projects in these fields,” he said.
