Looking at the possibilities of export of agricultural products from Jharkhand, Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) said that it is necessary to establish export house, pack house, inspection house and quality control unit laboratory in the State as well as increase in air cargo facility in Ranchi.
In the meeting of the Chamber's import export sub-committee held in the Chamber Bhawan, it was said that there are immense possibilities of export of agricultural products from the state, under which minor forest produce like tamarind, mahua etc. and vegetables like cauliflower, cabbage, bharkoli, carrot, beans, peas, tomato etc. can be exported in large quantities.
Sub-committee chairman SK Agarwal said that there is currently difficulty in exporting fresh vegetables from Jharkhand because there is no port nearby. "Farmers' income can be increased by exporting fresh vegetables from here. For this, irradiation will be required in Jharkhand. Along with this, there is also a need for modern warehouse, modern cold storage unit, which needs to be reviewed at the departmental level," he added.
It was also said in the meeting that to promote export from Jharkhand, the Government of India has appointed Managing Director, Agriculture Marketing Board as Nodal Officer (AFEDA). It is necessary that the nodal officer should take initiative to speed up the export possibilities by holding a joint meeting with the officials of Agriculture Department, Agricultural University, ICAR Palandu of the Central Government as well as representatives of the industry. Meanwhile, the meeting of the Startup Sub Committee of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce was concluded in the Chamber building. It was said that the revised version of the Startup Policy which was to be implemented in the year 2023 has not been implemented yet. This information was given in the Startup Conclave organized by the Chamber last year. But due to certain reasons, no action has been taken so far.
It was also said that the government's incubation center is still closed and more than 130 startups which were selected are worried. The government should take immediate action on this. It was also said that the Chamber is very keen to promote startups in the state, for this the Chamber will create an incubation center and will promote and inspire the startup companies of Jharkhand and other states.
It was also discussed that a Startup Conclave will also be organized at the beginning of the new year. For this, efforts have also been started to connect all the startups of the state. Deputy Committee Chairman Manish Piyush said that the Chamber will welcome startups not only from Jharkhand but also from other nearby states and looks forward to the possibility of creating a big company by combining the positive market and talent here.
