Heavy rains continue for third day in State capital

Heavy rainfall has continued for the third day in the state capital due to the activity of the strong system, rain has been witnessed continuously since Tuesday disrupting the normal life.

On Wednesday, 2 inches of rain was recorded during the day while 4 inches of rainfall was recorded in the last 36 hours. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain at night as well, while similar weather will remain for the next 3 days.

The full tank level of Kolar Dam near Bhopal is 462.2 meters and the dam is full. In such a situation, 2 out of 8 sluice gates were opened on Wednesday, 2 sluice gates of Kaliyasot Dam and one sluice gate each of Kerwa-Bhadbhada Dam have also been opened.

On Wednesday afternoon, water was flowing over the bridge of Patara river in Jagdishpur near Bhopal. Due to this, the road to and fro remained closed.

Due to continuous rain, waterlogging has occurred in many areas of Bhopal. Water has flooded the roads in low lying areas of MP Nagar, Habibganj Naka, Ashoka Garden, Karond, Shiv Nagar.

After water was released from Kaliyasot Dam, people of Damkheda and Samardha Tola on the river bank have been alerted. If the flow of water increases, people would be shifted to safer areas. There is water on the roads of Khejra Baramad as well. Due to heavy rains in the past few days, boats had to be used on the roads here.

Three houses collapsed due to heavy rains in Rajgarh district. Deputy Tehsildar of Sandavata, Suresh Singh, said that the kutcha houses of villagers named Mangilal of Kadlawad village, Mohan Lal Singh of Patkya village and Suraj of Chatkya village have collapsed. In this, Mohan Lal, a resident of Patkya, has suffered minor injuries.

A four-year-old child died after the wall of a kutcha house collapsed due to heavy rains in Ujjain's Bhairavgarh police station area. The incident took place around 3 am on Tuesday-Wednesday night. Tanmay Malviya (4) was sleeping with his father Anil Malviya and mother. Meanwhile, the wall of the house suddenly collapsed at night. Neighbors pulled out all three from the debris. By then the child had died.

Two pregnant women in Nilagodari of Kiranapur area of Balaghat and a pregnant woman trapped in the flood from Kandri Kala of Lanji area have been rescued.
