Freed child laboueres sent back home by DLSA

As per the instructions of Jhalsa, Ranchi and the orders of Principal District and Sessions Judge cum Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Garhwa and Secretary Ravi Chaudhary, five to six child labourers who were taken out as hostages for child labour were sent back home.

 

On 16.05.2024,  tribal children were being lured and taken to Chennai, Tamil Nadu by a contractor from different villages of Garhwa district for child labour and were being made to do child labour by keeping them hostage. When PLV Kalamuddin Ansari of District Legal Services Authority, Garhwa got information about this, he took immediate action and gave an application and informed to the District Legal Services Authority, Garhwa, Child Welfare Committee, Garhwa Bachpan Bachao Andolan and Police Station Incharge Meral about the matter.

 

When the police station in charge took action in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, all the children were rescued, out of which some children from other states including Bihar and Jharkhand were also found who were being made to do child labour there.

 

When the contractor of Garhwa district came to know about the action, he sent the three children  to their home.

 

On Friday, all the three children were brought to the Child Welfare Committee, Garhwa where the children were questioned.

 

In today's program, Chairman of Child Welfare Committee Pranav Kumar and members Manoj Kumar Dubey, Rajiv Ranjan Tiwari, Mukesh Kumar Singh, Project Coordinator Rajiv Kumar Ravi, District Child Protection Officer Ashok Nayak, Child Protection Officer Institutional Supervision Sanjay Thakur, Police Sub Inspector Arvind Sao and office staff of District Legal Services Authority and PLV Kalamuddin Ansari, parents of child labourers were present.
