FJCCI wants permanent solution to rent dispute of shops

Tuesday, 31 December 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries corresponded with City Administrator Sandeep Singh to propose a rent settlement scheme for a permanent solution to the rent dispute of shops located at Bazar Tand. Due to delay in resolving this problem which has been going on for years, a meeting was held in the Chamber Bhawan in which it was said that due to construction of additional structure in the shops allotted in Bazar Tand located in Upper Market, the rate of rent, interest and fine on it has become very high due to which this matter has become complicated. After the death of the licensee or in the event of separation of a family member, along with the transfer of the name of the shop, shopkeepers also have other difficulties, which require departmental review.

Chamber's executive member Amit Sharma said that at that time, for the purpose of increasing income, only land was allotted to the shopkeepers by the Municipal Corporation, in which the traders constructed the structure at their own expense. In the light of the order issued by the Corporation in this regard, the shopkeepers also pay tax to the Corporation as per the construction. We are regularly receiving suggestions from such traders to solve this problem that has been going on for years. Despite the continuous efforts of the Federation, the Ranchi Municipal Corporation has not yet taken the required action in this matter, due to which the traders are under mental stress.

Chamber President Paresh Gattani said that for a permanent solution to this problem, the Municipal Corporation should take the initiative to regularize the shops by bringing a popular scheme in the form of rent solution. With this effort of the corporation, along with the solution of the years-old problem of the shopkeepers at Bazaar Tand, RMC will also get crores of rupees in the revenue head, which can be used in the welfare schemes of the government.

Chamber President Paresh Gattani, General Secretary Aditya Malhotra, Treasurer Rohit Agarwal, Joint Secretary Navjot Alang, Executive Member Amit Sharma, Shailesh Agarwal, Vice President of Ranchi Municipal Corporation Tenant Association Shankar Jha and member Arun Joshi were present in the meeting.
