A woman prisoner lodged in Khunti Jail was allegedly raped for a month by two jail employees who lured her to get her released very soon. When she became pregnant, they threatened to kill her. The female prisoner has written a letter to the National Commission for Women making these allegations.
Through the letter, the female prisoner has said that she had met both the accused employees a few months ago. Both of them together lured her to get her released from jail and raped her several times.
In the letter written by the female jail inmate in Khunti jail, two employees of Khunti jail have been accused of rape. She has also alleged that they forced her to get abortion when she became pregnant.
The female prisoner has alleged that the jail staffs do not allow the prisoner to write letters. Therefore, the letter has been written through the female prisoner who is about to be released.
According to the information, the woman is a resident of Ludhiana. But the ancestral home is in Khunti only. The police had arrested him on charges of opium smuggling. It is alleged that both the jail employees raped her for a month after luring her to leave. During this time, when she became pregnant, she was first threatened to be killed and then let her rot in jail. Then abortion was done.
The woman alleges that the date for abortion has been shown three months before the backdate. The woman has demanded from the Commission that her allegations be investigated. Also, her medical report should be examined by a special team.
The woman has written in the letter that of the two jail personnel who raped her, one has been posted in Khunti jail for six years and the other for eight years. Apart from her, both the jail personnel have also committed wrongdoings with other women prisoners. In this matter, the Jail IG said that such a case has not yet come to his notice. If so, the matter will be investigated.
