The basketball team from Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro clinched the East Zone title at the Inter-DPS Basketball Tournament (Boys Open) 2024, held at DPS Ruby Park, Kolkata, with a commanding 30-7 victory over DPS Megacity, Kolkata. Competing against 15 teams from the East Zone, DPS Bokaro displayed remarkable skill, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm, qualifying for the Nationals with this impressive win.
In the group stage, DPS Bokaro defeated DPS Asansol, DPS Siliguri, and DPS Fulbari to enter the quarter-finals, where they beat DPS Gaya 27-21. Advancing to the semi-finals, they overcame the host team, DPS Ruby Park, with a score of 47-15, and in the final showdown, they dominated DPS Megacity, Kolkata, with a resounding 30-7 victory to secure the zonal title.
Upon their return to Bokaro on Thursday, the victorious team received a warm welcome at the school. Principal Dr. A.S. Gangwar praised the champions, commending their hard work, dedication, and teamwork. He extended his best wishes for their upcoming national competition.
