A 30-year-old auto-rickshaw driver died after his auto-rickshaw overturned and hit a road divider in a bid to save a bike rider moving on the wrong side near MP State Cooperative Dairy Federation ( Sanchi Dugdh Sangh).
After the accident, the driver was admitted to the hospital and later he died on Sunday morning during treatment.
Family members said that this accident happened while trying to save a bike rider coming from the wrong side. At the same time, the police said that the matter is being investigated.
The deceased identified as Pradeep Lodhi was a resident of Bagmugalia. He used to drive his loading auto rickshaw. He met with an accident while passing near Gate No. 5 of Sanchi Milk Union on Saturday morning.
The deceased's maternal uncle Suresh said that a bike rider was spotted coming from the wrong side at a high speed. The bike rider had come very close. In an attempt to save him, Pradeep's auto went out of control and overturned after climbing the divider. Pradeep suffered serious injuries in this accident.
He said that immediately after the incident Pradeep was taken to JP hospital. There the doctors refused to admit him and advised to take him to Hamidia Hospital citing his critical condition.
Although he was taken to Hamidia Hospital, he died during treatment. Police said that the investigation into the case is ongoing. CCTV footage will be checked so that the real cause of the accident can be revealed.
Pradeep got married three years ago. He had a love marriage, but had no children from the marriage. Pradeep used to earn from his financed loading auto rickshaw, with which he used to pay the installments and also take care of family.
