A 16-year-old boy was apprehended on Sunday for allegedly killing his father in a fit of rage.
Police said the boy allegedly smashed a plastic pipe on his father’s head when the man was beating his wife in Delhi’s Rohini, resulting in his death.
“On Sunday, a call was received at 10.58 am regarding the murder of a person at the Aman Vihar police station regarding an incident of murder of a person at Ramesh Enclave in the area,” a senior police officer said.
The local police team immediately reached at the place of incident where a 55 year old male person was found in unconscious condition. He was immediately shifted to hospital where he was declared brought dead by the Doctors, a police officer stated, adding that the man’s body has been preserved in the hospital for postmortem.
Initial inquiry revealed that the deceased used to beat his wife and children on trivial issues under the influence of alcohol, said the officer. “On Sunday, the deceased picked up a quarrel with his wife and was thrashing her, when his son intervened and hit his father’s head with a plastic pipe which resulted in his death,” he added.
Police said that an FIR under sections 103 (1) (Punishment for murder) and 3(4) of the BNS has been registered at the Aman Vihar police station and the alleged identified as Children in Conflict with Law (CCL) has been apprehended. He added that further investigation is underway in the matter.
