The Department of Visual and Performing Arts of the Guru Nanak Dev University organized a Tribute Ceremony on the occasion of the eternal departure of the World Renowned legendary Tabla Player of India, Ustad Zakir Hussain Khan Sahib.
Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Head of the Department, while garlanding on the picture of late Ustad Zakir Hussain said that although Ustad Zakir Hussain Ji has left us physically but he will remain alive in the hearts and memories of every music lover due to his contribution to the field of music and giving a special place to Tabla playing as a solo Vadan.
Along with this, he also motivated the students to move forward by learning and taking inspiration from the lives of these personalities. After this, the departmental faculty Dr. Murli Manohar, Sh. Siddhartha Chatterjee, Dr. Gavish, Dr. Harmeet Singh, Dr. Priyanka Arora, Dr. Ramandeep Kaur, S. Gunveer Singh and research scholars Satnam Singh, Hasandeep Singh, Krishan Singh and other students also paid their tributes to Ustad Zakir Hussain Ji and prayed that God may grant his soul a place in heaven.
