Popular comedian and YouTuber from Chhattisgarh, Devraj Patel (22), known for his ‘Dil Se Bura Lagta Hai’ video, was on Monday killed in a road accident in Raipur city.
Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Agrawal told The Pioneer that the incident took place at around 3.30 pm near Agrasen Chowk when Patel and his friend Rakesh Manhar (21) were returning on a motorcycle to Mahasamund after filming a video in Nava Raipur. The handle of the motorcycle hit a truck going in the same direction. Manhar, who was riding the motorcycle, lost control and the two fell.
Patel, who was riding pillion, came under the rear wheel of the truck and was severely injured.
Manhar called the ambulance. Patel was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead. Manhar suffered bruises. The police caught the truck driver, Rahul Mandal (25), and seized the truck. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel expressed profound grief over the demise of Patel.
In 2021, Patel met Baghel and said 'only two persons in Chhattisgarh are famous, Me and Kaka (CM)'.
Patel had a YouTube channel, 'Dil Se Bura Lagta Hai', with more than 4 lakh subscribers and 8.8 crore views.
