The Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) on Tuesday arrested the 45th accused Rahul alias Krishna Singh from Kanpur, Uttar Prades in the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) graduate level recruitment examination leak case 2020-21.
This is the 57th arrest in UKSSC cheating cases being investigated by STF, said the senior superintendent of police of STF Ayush Agrawal. He said that the STF was searching for accused Rahul after his name came to light during the probe as one of the accused who leaked the paper and a bounty of RS 25,000 was also announced on his head last month. He said that a team left for Kanpur after getting information about his presence there.
He has revealed in the preliminary investigation that he got the leaked paper from a man named Parvez who belongs to Lucknow. He has confessed to selling the leaked paper to three to four candidates he knew for around Rs eight to Rs 10 lakh, said the SSP. He said that the STF will thoroughly interrogate the accused to gather more information about the case. The teams have already started searching for other men allegedly involved with him, added Agrawal. He said that UKSSSC has registered four separate cases regarding scams in the graduate level recruitment examination 2021, secretariat guard recruitment examination, online recruitment examination of forest inspector and gram panchayat development officer selection examination 2016 which are presently being investigated by STF. He said that the STF working quite cautiously and diligently in all these cases to ensure all culprits involved in these scams face legal consequences.
