Sunday, 22 October 2023 | PNS | Jamshedpur

In response to intelligence reports of subversive activities by top leaders of the banned CPI (Maoists), including Misir Besra, Anmel, Maechhu, Chaman, Kande, Ajay Mahta, Sagden Angriya, and Ashwin, a joint campaign by Chaibasa Police, CRPF units, Jharkhand Jaguar, and other forces has been initiated.

The campaign, which began on October 10, 2023, covers areas such as Goilkera police station, including villages like Kuida, Chhota Kuida, Maradiri, Meralgada, Hathiburu, Tilayabeda, Boypaissang, Katamba, Bayhatu, Bora Ey, Husipi, Rajabasa, Tumbahaka, Regada, Patatorab, Ga Gaburu, Luiya, and more.

Security forces conducting the operation in the forest/hilly areas around the village of Patatorab discovered and recovered two PNMCs (Purpose Non-Magnetic Charges) previously installed by Naxalites for targeting purposes. This successful recovery has strengthened security in the region.

Furthermore, in the village of Maradiri under Goilkera police station, security forces found and neutralized a potentially dangerous setup consisting of one pistol, a rod, an arrow dug into the road, and one detonator.

The ongoing anti-Naxal campaign underscores the commitment of law enforcement to maintain peace and security in the region.

The success of the operation is attributed to the seamless coordination between various security agencies, reflecting a united front against insurgency. Intelligence sharing and joint efforts played a crucial role in the operation's effectiveness.

An official said: "This operation is a testament to our commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the citizens. We will continue to take proactive measures against any threat to the nation."

While celebrating the success of the operation, authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. Additionally, citizens are advised to cooperate with security forces to ensure a swift and comprehensive response to potential threats.

The recent operation marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to curb Maoist insurgency. The recovery of IEDs and the dismantling of hideouts underscore the commitment of security forces to maintaining peace and stability in the region. Authorities remain vigilant, emphasizing the importance of sustained efforts to eradicate the menace of insurgency.
