The 550 meter long platform number 1 of the Daltonganj railway station will be padded/ elevated 6 inch more with concrete slabs and tiles for the comfort and convenience of the passengers.
It will ease the passengers to get into the coach or get down from it without putting foot on the stairs to the coach.
Passengers boarding Delhi bound trains straight from the hospital trolley or stretcher will find the upscaling of the platform very useful for them, said railway sources.
The up.gradation to the platform is under the aegis of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and the Daltonganj railway station is shortlisted to it.
Station superintendent of the Daltonganj railway station Umesh Kumar said this addition of 6 inch concrete slab for 550 meter long platform number 1 coupled with tiling too is only for the Up line platform and not for the Dn line platform.
There is only one Up line platform while there are 2 Dn line platforms in Daltonganj railway station.
It will take 6 or 7 months when the entire stretch of the Up railway line here at the Daltonganj railway station will have this padding of 6 inch concrete slab etc.
