To inculcate critical thinking, persuasion and to improve communication and public speaking skills, and confidence in students, Prestige Institute of Management and Research, Undergraduate Campus, Indore organized the Intra-College Debate Competition - ‘Rebuttal Rebels- Season-2. The topic of the debate competition was `Night Life is good for youth'.
The competition started with fire attacks and concluded with winners of the battle. In the category of “for the motion”, Gurleen Kour Sudan secured first position, while Shivakshi Singh Choudhury secured position. Faiza Khan and Arijit Singh secured first and second positions respectively while speaking “against the motion”.
In the inter college debate competition organized on the topic `Westernization of youth: End of Indian culture, Prashant Patel of School of Law, DAVV and Aditya Pratap Singh of The Government New Law College stood first and second respectively while speaking in favour of the topic, while Gurleen Kaur Sudan' of the Prestige Institute of Management and Research and Tanisha Agarwal of Daily College of Business Management won first and second position while speaking against the topic.
Besides the Prestige Institute of Management and Research, students from School of Law, the Government New Law College, Institute of Management Studies, International Institute of Professional Studies, School of Journalism and Mass Communication, DAVV; Daily College of Business Management, Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth University, Shri Vaishnav Institute of Management, Mata Gujri College of Business Studies and Dr. A.P.J. Students of Abdul Kalam University took part in the inter-college debate competition.
High Court advocate and State Secretary of the International Human Rights Federation, Gopal Upadhyay, Hindi teacher, poet and story writer Anita Joshi, Motivational Speaker, Writer Sangeeta Pathak, and Sugandha Mishra were the jury members for both the competitions. PIMR UG Director, Dr. S. Raman Iyer hailed enthusiastic participation of students in the debate competition and said such competitions will help improve communication and oratory skills of students.
