JSPL Chairman Naveen Jindal visited Paradip on Thursday for the auspicious Bhoomi Poojan ceremony for the Western Dock Jetty at the port, where he laid the foundation stone.
Later, Jindal engaged in a meeting with the port Chairman and other senior officials in the port boardroom. The Western Dock Jetty, upon completion, is poised to handle an impressive 25 million metric tons of cargo annually, marking a significant milestone for Paradip Port in the realm of cargo trade.
The Paradip Port currently holds a substantial capacity of 289 million metric tons, achieving the distinction of being the foremost major port in India by transporting around 136 million metric tons of cargo annually. The Western Dock Jetty, slated for operational status by 2025, is expected to further enhance Paradip Port's capacity to an impressive 314 million metric tons.
