Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami received a rousing welcome on his return to Dehradun from a four-day tour of Britain on Saturday. Cabinet ministers, MLAs and Bharatiya Janata Party workers gathered to receive the chief minister who landed in a helicopter at the Bannu school ground here in the morning. The CM had gone to Britain to woo investors and invite them to the global investors summit slated to be held in Dehradun during December. During his Britain tour, the State government signed memoranda of understanding with various companies for investments amounting to about Rs 12,500 crore. The ministers and other public representatives thanked Dhami for his efforts.
Officials stated that in addition to the agreements for investments amounting to Rs 12,500 crore, an agreement was also reached with the British Tourism minister to prepare a work plan aimed at increasing the flow of tourists between Uttarakhand and Britain.
Cabinet ministers Satpal Maharaj, Prem Chand Agarwal, Ganesh Joshi, Subodh Uniyal, Rekha Arya, BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt, MLAs and party workers were among those who met the chief minister after his return to Dehradun.
