Shiv Pal Singh (IFS), Chief Vigilance Officer, BHEL on Thursday visited various manufacturing blocks of BHEL, Bhopal factory, reviewing the work-in-progress of the products being manufactured. Rajeev Singh, Executive Director, BHEL, Bhopal and Anil Kumar Jain, General Manager & Head, Corporate Vigilance, BHEL were present with him.
While visiting the blocks, Singh took information about the work being done from the employees, supervisors and executives and said that we have to focus on the profit front of the company along with the quality of the products. He stressed on customer satisfaction thereby strengthening the reputation of BHEL.
Singh, while discussing with the General Managers and DROs of Bhopal Unit, reviewed the progress of the work being done in their departments. Appreciating BHEL as an engineering company, he discussed various aspects of vigilance.
He said that all the policies of the company should be transparent and all the information should reach every section of the employees. Emphasizing on making the documents correctly and honestly, he said that while tendering, we should pay full attention to the rules of the company. The person keeps moving but the documents are always there.
Therefore, documents are very important. Unless we are clear, honest and ethical, neither the company will benefit nor the company's reputation will increase. He also said that vigilance is to help the officers and employees and there is no need to keep distance from them. He called for working boldly in a time bound manner. While discussing with different sections of the employees, Singh answered their questions & assured to implement their suggestions.
During the discussion, Rajeev Singh, while highlighting the work being done in BHEL, Bhopal, laid emphasis on material management and adherence to the rules of Purchase Policy and Works Policy in procurement through tendering and best material purchasing.
Jain discussed various aspects of vigilance and said that we should accurately assess the actual market conditions while making estimates. We should make tender mentioning our items and requirements correctly.
Pankaj Paradkar, Senior Deputy General Manager welcomed everyone in the program and highlighted the objectives of the program.
