Changing the lives of women is my first priority: CM

Saturday, 29 April 2023 | Staff Reporter | BHOPAL

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that changing the lives of women  is my first priority. Sister-brother relationship is a relationship made by God, sisters do not have any religion or caste. I will take away all the sorrows and pains of my sisters, sisters are not helpless, they should be strong, this is my resolution.

Sisters from poor, lower middle class families have to face many difficulties. God made son and daughter equal, but in the course of history, sons started getting more importance and daughters started being ignored. To change this situation and for the betterment of daughters, the state government has implemented many schemes. In this sequence, Ladli Bahna Yojana is being started.

To ensure that women do not have to face any difficulty to meet their daily needs, we have started Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana to provide Rs 1000 to them per month. The sisters will spend the amount received from the scheme for the betterment of themselves and their families. This scheme will prove to be a social revolution. Chief Minister Chouhan reached various wards of Bhopal city on Friday to get the forms of Ladli Bahna Yojana filled and hold dialogues.

Chouhan got the applications of  Nazia, Santosh Tirtade and Preeti Mehra filled at the Yoga Center of Ward No. 10, Idgah Hills. Forms were filled by Shilpi Sisodia and  Ayesha Khan at Rashidiya School in Ward No. 13, Tila Jamlapura, and Smt. Pooja and Smt. Savita Chandravanshi at Rashidiya School, Ward No. 13, Tila Jamlapura. Chief Minister Chouhan got the forms of Chhaya Borse,  Shivani Dhanelia and Smt Anita Nikam and Barkha Tomar in Ward 32 Sunehri Bagh Camp filled.

In his interaction with the women, Chouhan said that we do not want to remain poor. Women are not born to suffer, to be poor, to live in hardship. Together we will change the world. Women will live a life of dignity and self-confidence, the state government is committed to empowering women and providing equal opportunities to them in all fields.

For this purpose, various schemes are being run from the birth of the girl child till her education, marriage and to make her self-dependent. The Chief Minister said that the time for women to be confined to the hearth is now over. Women are no less than anyone, be it political life, government service or starting their own business, women should come forward in every field. The state government has reserved half the seats for women in the elections to panchayats and urban bodies. There is a system of adequate reservation in all government services including police. Self-help groups have been formed in the state so that women can unite and start their work and a large number of women are associated with it.

Chief Minister Chouhan instructed Bhopal Collector and Municipal Corporation Commissioner to launch a campaign for the formation of women self-help groups in Bhopal. He said that we have to ensure that every woman earns at least Rs 10,000 per month.

The Chief Minister said that the life of sisters should be full of happiness and joy, there should not be any difficulty in their life, for this purpose the state government is working on all aspects. Stamp duty is only one per cent for registration of immovable property in the name of women, while this fee is three per cent for registration in the name of men.

Due to this, immovable properties have been registered in the name of women on a large scale. It has also been made mandatory to register the name of the wife along with the husband in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana houses. The Chief Minister said that the state government has closed all the ahatas running along with liquor shops in the state from April 1.
