The Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCCI) on Sunday said it has not yet decided to support the bandh called by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in state on April 10.
CCCI President Amar Parwani said the killing of a youth after a communal dispute in a village of Bemetara needed to be condemned. It also raises questions on the security system.
He stated the CCCI expresses its sympathies to the family of the young man who was killed. A security personnel was also injured.
The VHP has called a Chhattisgarh Bandh on April 10. It has sought support from the Chamber.
The Chamber urged the state government to take concrete steps to counter communal riots.
On Saturday, one person was killed and three policemen were injured in a clash between members of two communities.
