Bokaro Steel City Railway Station is the highest revenue generating railway station in South Eastern Railway under Adra Division. However there is a severe lack of passenger facilities at this station, due to which the common people have to face a lot of difficulties including concern over the industrial growth. Thus pertaining to the overall concerns Bokaro MLA Biranchi Narayan’s representative Sanjay Tyagi met General Manager of South Eastern Railway, Anil Kumar Mishra at Bokaro Railway Station and submitted Legislator letter stating to increase and boost railway  facilities in Bokaro to benefit the citizens of district and industrial growth being Bokaro now considered as the Industrial hub of Nation.

In the letter primary action requested over the construction of two lane road from Bokaro railway station to NH which is extremely important being only connectivity from township , A 25 bed hospital should be started in Railway Colony so that residents do not have to go to distant hospital for the required basic treatments, Better residential facilities to the railway employees as the employee colony has become dilapidated due to lack of maintenance, Hatia Yashvantpur train and Hatia Ernakulam Express train operations should be extended upto Dhanbad so that other passengers including students studying in South India can get the benefit of this facility. Also in the letter it was requested that footpath shopkeepers living around Bokaro Railway Station should be made permanent and they should be provided shops on license. Further via letter it was highlighted that Howrah-Purulia Express stands at Purulia station throughout the day which should be extended till Bokaro railway station. Hatia-Jayanagar Express should run daily, Ispat Nagar station should be developed into a big station by building a washing line and yard in Sector-9, Employees who are reinstated on outsourcing in Bokaro should be given honorarium as per the rules of the Labor Ministry of the Central Government. Overall many more requests were made in the letter to ensure Bokaro Railway infrastructure cohesive development so that District development is justified both in terms of passenger facilities and Industrial growth of Bokaro Steel City.
