As per the instructions of the Railway Board, a lecture on cyber security awareness was organised in the auditorium of the Technical Training Centre (TTC) of Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) here on Thursday. The chief guest was Principal Chief Electrical Engineer (PCEE) SK Srivastava. The main keynote speaker Dr Roshan Singh of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) informed the officers and employees about cyber security. He said that this year, the theme of the cyber security campaign is ‘secure our world’ and globally the month of October is celebrated as National Cyber Security Awareness Month. He said in today’s world to prevent cyber crime it is necessary to spread awareness about cyber hygiene among the public, especially among weaker sections and groups. “People creating cyber threats are using updated and latest technologies,” he said, adding such programmes the aimed at increasing cyber security awareness among the public and private sectors and enhance cyber resilience of the nation. Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer Shishir Dutt also shared information about cyber security and cyber related incidents that happened to him. Principal Chief Engineer Vinod Bampal, Chief Vigilance Officer PK Chaudhary, Chief Quality Assurance Manager Praveen Kumar, Public Relations Officer Rajesh Kumar and many other BLW officers and employees were also present. In the end, the vote of thanks was proposed by Chief Mechanical Engineer (QMS) Ramjanam Choubey.
