The 89th Regional Board Meeting of ESIC Gujarat was held on February 16 under the chairmanship of Shri Brijeshkumar Merja, Hon’ble Minister, Labour, Skill Development & Employment at Saraswati Hall, Swarnim Sankul-2, Sachivalay, Gandhinagar. While addressing the Regional Board Meeting, Shri Merja, appreciated that the second meeting of Regional Board has been conducted within four months. He informed the gathering that he met Shri Bhupendra Yadav, Minister of Labour & Employment, Govt of India and apprised him about the recommendations of the Regional Board during the last meeting and assured to take positive decisions.
Shri Ghishulal B Kalal, Member of ESI Corporation & Regional Board, Dr Nitin Vora, Member of ESI Corporation & Regional Board, Smt. Anju Sharma, I A S (Principal Secretary, Department of Labour & Employment, Govt. of Gujarat, Smt. P. Bharathi, IAS, Labour Commissioner, Gujarat, Shri Ratnesh Kumar Gautam, Additional Commissioner & Regional Director, ESIC Gujarat attended the meeting.
The board recommended opening a new hospital at Sanand (District-Ahmedabad) to provide effective medical care to the workers. It was also recommended to upgrade ESIS Hospital Rajkot and ESIC Hospital Vapi to 100 bedded Superspeciality Hospitals.
Shri Ratnesh Kumar Gautam, Additional Commissioner & Regional Director, Gujarat informed that ESIC has taken several steps to enhance/improve the medical facilities and medical infrastructure in consultation with ESIC HQ and with active support from Govt. of Gujarat.
