The director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh Ravikant has said that people should follow the social distancing norms and wear masks till 90 percent of the population of the country is vaccinated against the Covid-19.
Ravikant said that the vaccine made by the Indian scientists is completely safe and there should be no confusion about the vaccine.
The AIIMS Director was the second person to be vaccinated at the AIIMS Rishikesh on the first day of the vaccination. The hospital authorities administered the first vaccine jab to Meena Devi, a class IV employee of the hospital. She said that she felt totally healthy after receiving the vaccine. She added that she gets pride in serving in an institute like AIIMS Rishikesh.
The hospital administration informed that in the first phase, vaccines will be given to those frontline workers of AIIMS who are doing duty in the Covid wards.
These include doctors posted in Covid duty, nursing staff, sanitation staff and attendants.
