Metro Railway authorities have been executing newer infrastructural development activities during the lockdown. One of the major development works accomplished during the period is the suspension of the rake movement and a replacement of the inclined plates at Dum Dum.

This replacement was necessary for smooth transfer of rakes from Dum Dum, UP platform to Noapara or Y-siding.

Due to some technical problem, earlier, it used to take sometime to transfer rakes from Dum Dum, UP platform to Noapara or Y-siding. Commuters will now get benefit of this infrastructural development when Metro services resume.
