Change your vision

If we recognise our true spiritual identity, the national, political and social boundaries would become meaningless, says Rajyogi Brahmakumar Nikunj Ji

The world that we live in is divided on the basis of race, religion, language, nationality, political ideology and various other factors, as a result of which there is grave discrimination all over. This discrimination further breeds hatred, rivalry, injustice, conflicts and inhumane behaviour. A lot of time, money and energy is wasted in settling these conflicts at the communal, national or international level. Not only does this discrimination creates law & order problems but also affects physical and mental health of people at large. Due to all these negativity, majority of population lives in constant fear and anxiety. One does not find love, friendship, cooperation, unity and concord. Hence, struggle and strife becomes the very way of life.

In order to treat a large part of population suffering from many psychosomatic diseases, caused by tension, insecurity, disunity, lack of love and spirit of enthusiasm, various hospitals need to be run, doctors should be trained, medicines have to be made and supplied, diagnostic instruments need to be invented and manufactured. The efficiency of the nation is reduced and as a result the economic burden on the country increases. In order to have enough money for the maintenance of machinery, healthcare and law, the government has to tax people. This in turn leads to the rise in prices of goods. As a result, everyone tries to make some extra money through tax-evasion or other unfair means. This leads to corruption and rise in economic crimes. The society becomes more materialistic and the values of love, cooperation, service, sympathy, etc. are replaced by profiteering and accumulation of property and wealth.

This analysis leads to the conclusion that there is no alternative to values like love and peace. As long as there is discrimination on the basis of race, religion, language, nationality etc., there will always be partiality, injustice, violence and therefore, no peace. So, the universal philosophy of life enjoins on us to create and maintain an atmosphere of love, harmony, unity, cooperation and sympathy. But this cannot be possible unless and until there is a shift in our self-identity. If our identities are based on race, religion, language, nationality, etc. there will always be conflicts, struggles and strikes. The only factor that can unite us inspite of these differences is our spiritual identity. If we all live in the belief that we are the beings-of-light, i.e. souls and are children of the supreme being of light, only then our attitude and behaviour towards others will be based on a feeling of brotherhood. So, the need of the hour is a change in our world vision. If all humans come to recognise their true, spiritual identity and mutual brotherhood, the boundaries of nations, races, religions, classes etc. would become meaningless, and humanity would be able to live in peace and harmony as one family.
