Kolhan commissioner visits Covid control aroom

Kolhan commissioner Virender Bhusan inspected the Covid-19 control room set up near the Sakchi police station premises and went through the complaint register log-books and the Covid-19 dashboard set up at the control room.

He said that the administration is keeping an eye on the spread of the virus and proactive measures are being taken to control the situation in Kolhan. He went on to add that the situation is better in Kolhan. The control room is helping in any type assistance required to fight the virus.

“ We are keeping a track on samples being sent for testing. All the reports are coming negative. We have also sealed border 

Moreover isolation wards have been set up in all the medical colleges cum hospitals at Jamshedpur including Tata Main Hospital and MGM Medical College and Hospital. There are a total of 70 beds at the isolation wards in different medical colleges. While isolation wards have been set up in the district hospitals in the 19 districts Jamshedpur Sadar Hospital also has a four-bed isolation ward.

All the isolation wards have adequate provision of masks, drugs, hand sanitisers, water, soaps and other medical requirements. 104 is the 24x7 helpline number and so far 1171 calls pertaining to coronavirus have been attended in Jharkhand.

“ We are spreading awareness among people. We have not found a single positive case of Corona in the city, so there is no need to panic. But we need to be alert just the same. We have conducted a review meeting and have asked the health officials concerned to keep an eye,” said official.

The official of health department said its is important people to Clean hands frequently with alcohol based sanitizer or soap in running water for at least 20 seconds scrubbing all parts of both the hands properly. They should cover face while sneezing or coughing.

 He noted that common symptoms of novel coronavirus are running nose, sore throat, dry cough, fever,  tiredness difficulty breathing. Some patients may have aches and pains, nasal congestion, and sore throat.

City police have deployed a large force of officers at earmarked crossings to check the movement of vehicles. Multiple teams are patrolling the city to ensure people stay indoors.

The administration has issued a lockdown notice, barring essential and emergency services. “Do not step out of home unless absolutely necessary, otherwise it will not be possible to contain the spread of the contagious virus. Else, be prepared to face the police,” an officer said. Food items and medicines are among services exempt from the lockdown following the outbreak of the virus.
