A day after tasting a humiliating defeat at the hands of the NDA, the Mahagathbandhan allies have decided to review their performance in the General Elections and make necessary changes in their game plan to turn the tables in the upcoming Assembly polls in Jharkhand.
While the UPA allies are still recovering from the general election jolt, their think tanks have already started mulling over initiatives that may result in a contrariwise peoples’ verdict in the elections for the 81 assembly segments slated in November here.
Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) president Ajoy Kumar said that his party will not contest the Assembly elections with an anti Raghubar Das agenda and instead focus on the promise of forming an efficient government that delivers. Pointing out at the possible reasons for the party’s loss in the Lok Sabha polls, Kumar said that the NDA had a greater “messaging power” and stronger “electioneering system”.
“We lost by a narrow margin in Lohardaga and Khunti. The difference was of hardly 1000 votes in Khunti and around 7000 in Lohardaga. This can be reversed.
The focus, however, will be on providing efficient governance to the people and not just running a campaign against the incumbent Raghubar Das government,” he said.
