Tightening the noose around illegal coal transporters in the district, police seized one coal-laden truck on Kathara-Phusro near GM ground checkpost under Bokaro thermal police limits last night and arrested one person,said Inspector cum Officer-in Charge Umesh Kumar Thakur.
The identity of the arrested driver duo could have been Robin Paswan son of Manoj Ram, belonging to Tata block Jarandih colliery.
As per the report, a team of BTPS police swung into action after getting a tip-off on at least few trucks which were carrying coal from Kathara to neighbouring Jharkhand district late in the night. After intercepting the vehicle near the checkpost and conducting a search of those cops found one of the truck (JH-02T-7426) carrying 5 tonnes of coal.
After the truck driver failed to produce necessary documents for coal transport, police seized his vehicle and took him into custody. The interrogation of the arrested driver is underway to find out the involvement of any racket in the case,added Officer-in Charge.
