The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) launched its first Aadhaar Seva Kendra in Uttarakhand at Cross Road CSC.This Aadhaar Seva Kendra wasinaugurated by the BSNL Uttarakhand circle CGM (T) HK Verma and UIDAU RO DDG Pradeep Kumar. According to officials, BSNL will open 34 34 Aadhaar Seva Kendras in the whole of Uttarakhand which will provide Aadhaar services like Aadhaar

enrollment and updation. This will provide people of Uttarkhand more ease in availing Aadhaar services. The Aadhaar services like Aadhaar enrollment and mandatory

biometrics update at the age of five and 15 years will be provided free of cost. Any other updates like demographic updates whichinclude address, mobile phone number, name, gender, date of birth and email id can be done at the centre at a cost of Rs 50/-per update.Similarly, any biometric update like photograph, finger prints can be done at a cost of Rs 50/-per update. Residents should also keep in mind that while updating any fieldone should always carry original supporting documents to the centre.

Further, the date of birth can be updated only once inAadhaar. Residents can update name twice and gender also only once in Aadhaar.

In case the date of birth, name or gender is tobe updated more than prescribed limit, it can be done throughexceptional handling process which may require the resident tovisit regional office of the UIDAI.

Residents can also download E-Aadhaar from the website.As E-Aadhaar is an electronic copy of theAadhaar card, it is a valid

document and accepted everywhere. Residents should registertheir mobile number with Aadhaar.Any Aadhaar related information can be obtained from theWebsite www.uidai.gov.in and toll free number 1947, said officials.
