A SAD- BJP delegation led by SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal will call on Punjab Governor V P Singh Badnore on November 22 and press upon him to sack leader of opposition Sukhpal Khaira immediately.
Senior party leader Daljit Singh Cheema said the SAD- BIP delegation would present a memorandum to the Governor in this respect. The delegation would include MPs, MlAs and senior functionaries.
Cheema said the delegation would bring it to the Governor"s attention that the High court had upheld the order of a lower court summoning the AAP leader as an accused in a case of drugs and arms smuggling with Pakistani connections. He said the delegation would also point out that the Governor must sack Khaira immediately as the winter session of the Vidhan Sabha was slated to start on November 27.
"We will stress that a drug accused should not be allowed to function as leader of opposition in the Vidhan Sabha", he added.
