A Class-V student, who entered into teachers’ room of BK Major Public School at Mustafabad in loni on Monday during zero hour, was kicked by a teacher so hard in the groin that he lost consciousness.
What followed next was the height of cruelty: the heartless teacher summoned other students and asked them to throw 9-year-old Samir in the field opposite the school where he was left for more than half an hour until some students gathered enough courage to rush him to nearby Global Nursing Home hospital, said sources on the condition of anonymity. Till the paper was going to the press, doctors were working hard to revive Samir.
Preliminary probe has revealed that Samir, who sustained life-threatening injuries in the attack, had entered teachers’ room without seeking prior permission from them. “At that time, teachers were taking rest and gossiping in the room. One of the teachers took umbrage at Samir’s behavior and flew into a rage and hit Samir in his private parts. The impact of the teacher’s kick was so severe that the poor boy collapsed and lost consciousness,” said sources, adding that later some students informed the Ghaziabad Police but they did not respond.
The doctors treating the student told Samir’s father Noor Mohammad as injuries are severe, the boy is critical. “There is contusion in his private parts and has hit his nervous system. Efforts are on to revive the boy,” said a family source.
Noor alleged that the teachers are violent by nature in this particular school and that his elder son too was beaten up by the teachers in the past. Then, his complaints had fallen on deaf ears.
Meanwhile, the District Inspector of Schools ( DIOS) told The Pioneer that the school does not figure in the list of recognised schools. However, they are examining this case and suitable action will follow.
When asked for his comments, school manager Babu Haji said the school is recognised by the Madarsa Board, and defended the teacher saying the student was not in school uniform and that is why he could have been
punished.
Circle Officer of loni sub-division Durgesh Kumar said, “I am aware of this incident and have asked the loni SHO to register an FIR under
relevant sections and fix the responsibilty.”
