Woman alleges rape by 3 helps

Sunday, 28 April 2013 | SR | New Delhi

A 24-year-old married woman has alleged that she was gang-raped by three domestic helps who worked in the same household where she also worked.

In her complaint, she alleged that she was gang-raped by them when she was alone in the house. Her husband had gone out of station and she was alone in the servant quarters. A case of gang-rape has been registered at the New Friends Colony police station and all the three accused have been arrested.

A South-East district police official said that the woman works in the household of a Maharani Bagh-based businessman.

Her husband also works in the same house. The woman was not keeping well and was removed from the job by her employer. She was, however, living in the servant quarters of the same house with her husband.

Her husband had reportedly left for his village on April 25. The woman alleged that when she was alone in the room, the three accused who also worked in the nearby houses, reportedly forced their way into her room on the night of April 25.

They then gagged her and took turns to rape her. She informed her husband who returned the next day.

They approached the police station and lodged a formal complaint about the incident. The police arrested all the three accused after the rape victim identified and named them. She was taken to medical examination and the report is awaited.
