Vietnam Boat Tragedy: 14 victims were lava mobiles channel partners, company mourns loss

Fourteen of the 15 Indians who lost their lives in the tragic speedboat accident near Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam were channel partners of Lava Mobiles, while the remaining victim was a member of the company's team.
The group was on a company-sponsored incentive trip when the boat capsized shortly after departing from the island. The Indian Embassy in Hanoi said the victims included 10 people from Tamil Nadu, three from Andhra Pradesh and two from Kerala.
Lava Mobiles expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, describing the victims as valued members of its extended business family. The company said it is extending all possible support to the bereaved families and is coordinating with Indian and Vietnamese authorities during the ongoing relief and repatriation process. Rescue operations concluded after all passengers were accounted for, with several survivors receiving medical treatment before returning to India.
Vietnamese authorities have launched an investigation into the accident, while the Indian Embassy continues to assist affected families with documentation, medical support and the return of the deceased. The incident has prompted renewed attention to maritime safety as both governments work together to determine the cause of the tragedy.
