Security officer found dead at Indian mission in Bangladesh

A security protocol officer working at the Assistant High Commission of India in Chattogram in Bangladesh, was found dead inside the mission premises on Tuesday morning, according to police officials.
The deceased was identified as Narender, 35, a resident of Haryana, India, and son of Ram Niwas. He had been serving as a security protocol officer at the Indian mission located in the Khulshi area of Chattogram.
Officials said embassy staff became concerned after receiving no response from Narender’s room. Following repeated unsuccessful attempts to contact him, local police were informed.
Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Hasan Md Showkat Ali said law enforcement officers later recovered the body and prepared an inquest report before sending it to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
According to police, no visible signs of injury or abnormalities were initially found on the body. Authorities stated that the exact cause of death would be determined after the post-mortem examination is completed. CMP Deputy Commissioner (North Zone) Amirul Islam said an unnatural death case would be filed in connection with the incident.
After the autopsy process is finished, the body will be handed over to officials of the Assistant High Commission of India. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
