Rs 25,000 reward announced for SP leader wanted in Pratapgarh attack case

Police have announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for information leading to the arrest of a Samajwadi Party Lohia Vahini leader wanted in connection with an alleged attempt to kill a youth in Pratapgarh, officials said on Tuesday.
Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhuker announced the reward against Sandeep Vishwakarma on Monday evening, officials said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (City) Ashutosh Mishra said a case was registered against Vishwakarma at City Police Station over an alleged attack on a youth at the post-mortem house on August 14.
Vishwakarma, a resident of Katra Gulab Singh in Jethwara, has been named as an accused in the case, Mishra said.
The attack took place following the death of Saurabh Vishwakarma, a resident of Manapur Sindhaur in Leelapur, according to police.
Mishra said police teams were conducting raids at different locations to trace and arrest the accused.
Samajwadi Party district general secretary Abdul Qadir Jilani confirmed that Sandeep Vishwakarma is associated with the party's Lohia Vahini. (with inputs from PTI)
