Six pilgrims killed, 14 injured as pickup vehicle rams truck in Haryana

Six pilgrims were killed and 14 others injured after the pickup vehicle they were travelling in rammed into a stationary truck on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway in Haryana on Tuesday, police said.
The pilgrims were returning to Uttar Pradesh after visiting the Khatu Shyam temple and other religious places in Rajasthan when the accident took place.
A police official said three of the six people killed in the crash were women.
The injured were taken to a hospital in Palwal for treatment. The bodies of those killed were shifted to the Civil Hospital, where post-mortem examinations will be conducted.
All the victims were from Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh, officials said.
Police are looking into the circumstances that led to the pickup vehicle hitting the stationary truck. Further details about the accident were awaited.
