Pune cleantech startup Novorbis Itus bags Rs 13.35 cr seed funding from Rainmatter

Pune-based cleantech startup Novorbis Itus Pvt Ltd has raised Rs 13.35 crore in a seed funding round led by Rainmatter, the investment arm of Zerodha, with participation from Rockstud Capital.
Founded by Harsh Neekhra, Gagan Tripathi and Divyank Gupta, the startup develops emission control and air purification technologies aimed at reducing pollution from decentralised sources such as diesel generator (DG) sets and crematoriums.
The company’s key offerings include a filter-less Retrofit Emission Control Device (RECD) designed for existing DG sets and the Crematorium Air Purification System (CAPS), which aims to curb emissions from crematorium operations.
According to the company, the newly raised capital will be used to scale deployments of its technologies, expand its product portfolio to sectors such as boilers, steel plants and industrial facilities, and support the development of on-site carbon capture solutions.
The funding transaction was advised by Indorient Financial Services Ltd.
Commenting on the development, CEO Harsh Neekhra said the company was founded with the goal of addressing air pollution at its source. “We started Novorbis Itus as second-year college students in Indore with an idealistic view to fix air pollution at its source and leave clean air for future generations. With this investment, we aim to scale our technology and accelerate adoption across sectors,” he said.
Abhinav Negi said the startup is addressing critical but underserved pollution challenges in India. “DG set emissions and crematorium pollution tick all boxes-urgent, undeniable, and underserved. Novorbis is solving both with technology built for Indian conditions,” he noted.
Abhishek Agrawal said that tightening environmental norms are increasing the importance of retrofit emission control technologies.
He added that solutions like Novorbis’ RECD are becoming “essential infrastructure” for pollution management.
