Govt launches talent hunt scheme to explore talents in youth

The scheme is designed to encourage diversity and support self-employment and self-reliance
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday announced the launch of the ‘Talent Hunt Scheme — Hauslon Ki Udaan 2026-27’.
The scheme aims to identify and support talented youth in Delhi by providing a national platform. The announcement was made at a press conference at CM Jan Seva Sadan, where the official logo was also released. Minister for Art, Culture, and Languages, Kapil Mishra, attended the event.
According to the Chief Minister, the Delhi Government intends to provide opportunities for young people to demonstrate their abilities.
The Department of Art, Culture and Languages will implement the scheme to support youth participation and promote Delhi’s cultural heritage. The scheme is designed to encourage diversity and support self-employment and self-reliance.
The scheme will be implemented across all 70 Assembly constituencies in Delhi, with a budget of Rs 10 crore. It is expected to involve over 25,000 participants. The government stated that the process will be transparent and phased to ensure equal opportunity. Youth aged 16 to 35 can register free of cost on the online portal www.delhitalenthunt.com, which will provide registration details and programme updates.
The competition features seven major categories: singing (classical, folk, and non-classical), dance (classical, folk, and contemporary), fine art, digital art, sculpture and pottery, music composition, instrumental music, and acting and theatre.
The Chief Minister said the programme will be conducted in four phases: online registration and shortlisting; 35 cluster-level competitions; four zonal competitions; and a state-level final in August, with 28 finalists. Winners in each category will receive prize money, and all finalists will be recognised.
Selection will be based on online public voting, while the remaining 75 per cent will be determined by an expert jury comprising experienced, reputed professionals from relevant fields. She added that the grand finale will be organised on a large scale, with noted Bollywood personalities and celebrities expected to attend.
First-place winners will receive Rs 2.5 lakh. Second-, third-, and fourth-place winners will receive Rs 2 lakh, Rs 1.5 lakh, and Rs 1 lakh, respectively. Selected participants and outstanding performers will also receive certificates, awards, shields, and medals. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the scheme is intended to help Delhi’s youth gain recognition at the national level.
She stated that selected participants may be considered for roles in future government campaigns. Art, Culture and Languages Minister Kapil Mishra said the scheme is a step towards providing Delhi’s youth with opportunities to display their talent and support self-reliance. He stated that the initiative aims to identify talent and provide guidance and recognition to deserving participants.
The entire process, the government said, will be conducted in a transparent, systematic and phased manner to ensure equal opportunity for all participants. Youth between the ages of 16 and 35 can register free of cost through the dedicated online portal www.delhitalenthunt.com from Wednesday onwards.
