Delhi woman gets call in Goldy Brar's name demanding Rs 200 crore extortion

A woman in Delhi was allegedly threatened with an extortion demand of Rs 200 crore by a caller claiming to be Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar, police sources said on Tuesday.

According to the sources, the amount demanded is the highest extortion sum sought in the national capital so far.

Following a preliminary inquiry, police registered a case at the Civil Lines police station in north Delhi. A team from the Special Cell is also looking into the matter.

Investigators are working to establish the identity of the caller and determine the motive behind the extortion demand.  (with inputs from PTI)
