Gurugram driver Kalyan Bainsla arrested after woman biker hit-and-run case

Kalyan Bainsla, the driver accused of hitting a woman biker on Golf Course Road, was arrested from Rajgarh in Rajasthan on Tuesday, police said, two days after his speeding Ciaz allegedly rammed into her Aprilia RS 457.

The biker, Shivani Chauhan, who identifies herself as Sia on social media, had alleged that Bainsla deliberately drove his car into her motorcycle and fled the spot.

Following her social media video, Gurugram Police added attempt to murder charges under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The case was initially registered at Sector 56 police station under Sections 281 and 125 of the BNS.

Police had earlier formed three special teams to trace Bainsla. ACP (Headquarters) Abhilaksh Joshi said the accused had been identified and was being pursued.

Videos of the incident have also surfaced on social media. One recording allegedly shows the car moving towards Sia’s motorcycle before hitting it, while another rider captured the incident from behind.

Bainsla has admitted that the collision was his fault but denied deliberately hitting the biker. He claimed he lost control of his car near a U-turn and fled because he feared being assaulted by the group of bikers travelling with Sia.

Sia had also alleged that the car occupants misbehaved with her after approaching her on the road and claimed they appeared to be intoxicated. Her allegations have not been independently verified.
